Bowmanville, Ontario - This weekend, CTCC presented by Continental held its final event of the 2014 season. Two races were on the program, which would eventually crown the champions in all three categories. In Super Class, Gary Kwok and Rémy Audette shared the victories, while Roger Ledoux clinched the title. In Touring, Damon Sharpe finished in top spot both days but it was Michel Sallenbach who claimed the 2014 championship. And in B-Spec, Normand Boyer had a perfect weekend, winning both races and earning championship honours.
Presented at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, this final outing of the 2014 CTCC season was full of promise, notably in Super Class, where Rémy Audette was ready to fiercely compete in hopes of beating Roger Ledoux to the 2014 championship. Audette earned the fastest time in free practice, claimed pole position in qualifying, and led the first race on Saturday afternoon. However, on the sixth lap, while sitting comfortably in first place, a valve broke in Audette's Honda Civic Si, forcing the driver from Boisbriand (QC) to abandon the race and effectively ended his chances of being crowned with the title.
At the end of a hotly contested race, Ontarian Gary Kwok won his first of the year, crossing the finish line eight seconds ahead of Scott Nicol. Benjamin Distaulo rounded out the podium, ahead of Tom Kwok and Roger Ledoux.
In Touring Class, Michel Sallenbach, already guaranteed the 2014 championship title, debuted a brand new Mini Coupe. Damon Sharpe won the race ahead of his teammate Stuart Clark and Quebecker Charles Leclerc.
In B-Spec Class, the young Ontarian Rui Teixeira was hoping to continue in the wake of his victory at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières but veteran Normand Boyer, who has perfectly mastered the secrets of this fast track, didn't leave him any chance of winning.
The second competition, contested on Sunday morning as the 2014 season-ending race, saw Rémy Audette launch himself into the lead right from the start. The Quebecker was never caught as he built up a gap of twenty-five second by the time he crossed the finish line. It's the seventh victory in fourteen races this season for Audette. He earned championship runner-up status behind Roger Ledoux who, by finishing the race in sixth spot, was assured the necessary points to clinch his first ever championship title as the 2014 CTCC Super Class winner.
Finishing this race behind Rémy Audette were Gary and Tom Kwok, who put on a show, followed by Benjamin Distaulo, Nick Wittmer and of course, Roger Ledoux.
Damon Sharpe and Stuart Clark earned another one-two finish in Touring Class, this time ahead of Alain Lauzière. In fourth, was the 2014 champion Michel Sallenbach, in front of Karl Wittmer and Paul Gravel.
B-Spec Class saw Normand Boyer win again ahead of Rui Teixeira. Boyer is the 2014 class champion, followed by Teixeira and then Normand' son, Manuel Boyer.

Finale CTCC 2014 ce week-end, les champions 2014 couronnés !
Bowmanville, Ontario - CTCC présenté par Continental Tire présentait ce week-end le dernier rendez-vous de sa saison 2014. Deux courses au programme, destinées à couronner les champions dans les trois catégories. En classe Super, Gary Kwok et Rémy Audette se sont partagé les victoires, tandis que Roger Ledoux a décroché le titre. En Touring, double gain pour Damon Sharpe mais c'est Michel Sallenbach qui est le champion 2014. Enfin en B-Spec, Normand Boyer a fait coup double en remportant les deux courses et le titre de champion.
Présenté au Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, cet ultime rendez-vous de la saison 2014 de CTCC promettait beaucoup, notamment en classe Super où Rémy Audette entendait bien jouer jusqu'au bout sa chance de coiffer sur le fil Roger Ledoux pour le titre de champion 2014. Audette récolta le meilleur chrono aux essais libres, décrocha la pole position aux qualifications et mena la première épreuve, présentée samedi après-midi. Mais au sixième tour, alors qu'il était bien installé en tête, une soupape de sa Honda Civic Si se brisa, le contraignant à l'abandon et enlevant au pilote de Boisbriand (QC) tout espoir de couronnement.
Au terme d'une course très disputée, l'Ontarien Gary Kwok a décroché sa première victoire de l'année, croisant le fil d'arrivée avec une avance de huit secondes sur Scott Nicol. Benjamin Distaulo a complété le podium, devant Tom Kwok et Roger Ledoux.
En Touring, Michel Sallenbach, déjà assuré du titre de champion 2014, faisait débuter une toute nouvelle Mini Coupé. Pour la victoire, c'est cependant Damon Sharpe qui s'est imposé, devant son coéquipier Stuart Clark et le Québécois Charles Leclerc.
En classe B-Spec, le jeune ontarien Rui Teixeira espérait bien poursuivre sur sa lancée victorieuse du Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières mais le vétéran Normand Boyer, qui maîtrise à la perfection les secrets de cette piste très rapide, ne lui a laissé aucune chance pour la victoire.
La seconde épreuve, disputée dimanche matin et concluant la saison 2014, a vu Rémy Audette s'envoler en tête dès le départ. Le Québécois ne sera jamais rejoint, son avance culminant à vingt-cinq secondes au baisser du damier. C'est la septième victoire en quatorze courses cette saison pour Audette. Un gain qui le conforte à titre de vice-champion derrière Roger Ledoux qui, en terminant sixième de cette course, s'est assuré des points nécessaires à l'obtention de son tout premier titre de champion CTCC 2014, en classe Super.
À l'arrivée de cette course, on retrouve derrière Rémy Audette, Gary et Tom Kwok, qui ont de nouveau fait le spectacle, suivis de Benjamin Distaulo, Nick Wittmer et bien sûr Roger Ledoux.
Damon Sharpe et Stuart Clark ont de leur côté récolté un nouveau doublé en classe Touring, cette fois devant Alain Lauzière. Quatrième, Michel Sallenbach est bien sûr le champion 2014, devant Karl Wittmer et Paul Gravel.
La classe B-Spec a vu Normand Boyer l'emporter de nouveau face à Rui Teixeira. Boyer est le champion 2014 dans cette classe, devant Teixeira et son fils, Manuel Boyer.
