Caistor Centre, Ontario – All three Team Turner Racing drivers actually got to race on Victoria Day weekend, but Mother Nature still managed to intervene too.

Jamie and Cory Turner were ready to open their 360 Sprint Car seasons on Friday night at Ohsweken Speedway, but the event was cancelled due to wet grounds and cold temperatures. The rest of their weekend was better, as both traveled to Brighton Speedway on Saturday, and Humberstone Speedway on Sunday for the first two rounds of the 2014 Southern Ontario Sprints series. Meanwhile, Ryan Turner competed at Merrittville Speedway on Saturday, and Humberstone Speedway on Sunday with his DIRTcar Sportsman Modified.

SATURDAY, MAY 17
Saturday found a full field of 24 Sprint Cars signed in at Brighton Speedway for the SOS opener. Jamie started 4th in his heat race, but got a flat tire on the final lap and ended up finishing 6th, while Cory's first ever Sprint Car racing action was uneventful, as he started and finished 7th in his heat race. Jamie started 15th in the feature, and progressed through the field to finish 8th, while Cory started 23rd in his first career Sprint Car feature, and finished 15th.
Ryan's night at Merrittville was going pretty well, as he started and finished 3rd in his heat race, and earned the 4th starting spot in the feature for the field of 23 DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Unfortunately, he was collected in a crash on the first lap of the feature, resulting in a 22nd place finish, and some work to do in order to be ready for Humberstone on Sunday.

SUNDAY, MAY 18
All three TTR drivers reunited at Humberstone on Sunday, with Jamie and Cory among a total of 27 SOS Sprint Cars, while Ryan was part of a field of 20 DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds.

Ryan started 3rd and finished 3rd in his heat race. He drew the 6th starting spot for the feature, and was running inside the top 5 when a broken drag link shot his #91 off the end of turn 3, and out of the race.

Jamie started on the outside of the front row in his heat race, and won it, which put him in the redraw for feature starting spots. He drew the 4th starting spot, and advanced to 2nd before falling to 5th when a caution flag came out on lap 17. He got off track after the race restarted, and eventually finished 9th.

Cory started 9th in his heat race, and advanced to 7th. Despite gaining two spots in his heat race, Cory was forced to run the B-Main, where he made a nice run from 9th to 4th to secure a feature starting position. He started 23rd in the feature, and stayed on the lead lap to finish 15th.
"Starting tail every race this weekend wasn't ideal, but I definitely learned a lot," Cory said of the Sprint Car rookie rules. "It was nice getting a couple shows in before Ohsweken this week."

WHAT'S NEXT?
Jamie and Cory are ready for the start of the Ohsweken Speedway 360 Sprint Car season this Friday, May 23, while Ryan will be back at Merrittville with his DIRTcar Sportsman Modified on Saturday, May 24, and at Humberstone on Sunday, May 25.
