This week our Laps4MD Profile is Edmonton International Raceway NASCAR driver Erica.

How did you get interested in racing?

I basically grew up at the racetrack. Dad raced for thirty years so we were at a track almost every weekend since I was five17042701b years old.

How old were you when you started racing?

I started racing when I was sixteen.

Who was your favorite driver growing up?

I would have to say my dad, he was a very good racer and someone to look up too.

Who is your favorite driver now/or driver you look up to?

It would still be my dad but since he has retired, I currently have to say Kevin Harvick is my favourite driver.

What is your favorite track you have driven on?

Barrie Speedway in Ontario was one of my favourite. It was very unfortunate that is closed down I would have loved to have the opportunity to race track again.

What track would you like to drive on but haven't yet?

I think somewhere like on one of the NASCAR short tracks like Martinsville, I have the most fun on short tracks.

What series are you racing in now?

This year I am for sure doing the NASCAR Whelen All American Series at Edmonton International Raceway. With the hopes of adding in a few Pinty's Series races.

What car are you driving?

I have a Super Stock Late model with the body of a Grand Prix

What are your goals for the coming season?

Every year I race I go into the season of just always looking for improvement. To win another championship would be fun, hopefully my team and I can pull off another one!

How did you hear about the program?

I originally heard about Laps for MD from Joey McColm in 2015.

What made you sign up?

I liked the idea of how many laps you lead you donate a $1. It was a very creative and fun way to raise money for a good cause.

Would you encourage other racers to join in support?

For sure, its always a good idea to support good causes. Especially in a unique way!
